Jacqueline’s sensuous ballet in Roy

Jacqueline Fernandez has tried a different style of contemporary dance form in the romantic thriller Roy. The actress will be seen performing ballet on sand in the song Boond Boond.
Before shooting the number, director Vikramjit Singh was sure that he wanted the sequence to be artistic, yet sensual and passionate. When he briefed Ahmed Khan about the same, the choreographer instantly knew what he wanted to do.

Ahmed, who had made Jacky shake a leg to Jumme Ki Raat earlier, wanted to up the game this time around and hence, opted for ballet.Says Jacqueline, “Ahmed made me watch a couple of videos to understand the body language and refer to, before the shoot. I think he is one of the finest choreographers, who loves experimenting.”
Even though the actress had rehearsed earlier, dancing on the beach turned out to be difficult as her toes kept digging in the sand. Jacqueline, who has tried this dance form for the first time for the T-Series film, too suggested some moves to Ahmed. Of course, he happily incorporated them in the sequence.
She adds, “Ahmed gave a fresh touch to the kind of ballet we have usually seen on screen. The final scene that you see on screen is sensuous and passionate.”
Roy, produced by Divya Khosla Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, releases February 13.
