Jackky and I are pranksters: Nidhi Subbaiah
Every time a new pair gets together for a film, there’s curiosity surrounding them. Naturally, Jackky Bhagnani’s pairing with Nidhi Subbaiah for his forthcoming movie Ajab Gazabb Love has generated a lot of buzz after the song Boom Boom went online.
“I think people will like us together and talk about our chemistry,” says Jackky, adding, “Nidhi is one of my best co-stars. She’s very bubbly and chirpy and we’d often play pranks on people on the sets.

We became good friends, so the comfort zone was easy to translate on screen. There was a very young and cool vibe on the sets. And I must say, director Sanjay Gadhvi was majorly responsible for that.”
Nidhi, who initially thought her hero was arrogant, recalls, “I’m a prankster and soon realised that Jackky was one too. So we’d catch anyone and everyone unawares with our practical jokes.” “Coming from Coorg and doing Kannada films, my Hindi wasn’t good and I’d get confused between the genders in ‘ka’ and ‘ki’. But Jackky was the first to help me out with the language,” says Nidhi.
But Jackky would often tease her too. She adds, “I don’t think his day would be complete without pulling my leg over my goof-ups in Hindi. Nonetheless, he’s a very hard working guy, and very focused too. Sometimes I’d feel sad to see him work hard all day while adhering to his strict diet simultaneously.”
Nidhi also attributes her bond with her co-star to the workshops they attended for a couple of weeks under the guidance of the director.
Ajab Gazabb Love, produced by Puja Films, releases October 24.
