Jackie Shroff on the song Superhero Dada in The Great Grand Superhero: Dance is about expressing yourself without inhibitions
Jackie Shroff is stepping into a world powered by capes, chaos, and childhood imagination. Only this time, the energy comes with a grandfatherly twist as the actor takes on the role of a superhero granddad. In The Great Grand Superhero – Aliens Ka Aagman, he headlines Superhero Dada, the film’s vibrant children’s anthem packed with colourful madness, playful energy and the warmth of childhood nostalgia.
Jackie says, “The vibe of Superhero Dada is full-on fun. It has that madness, innocence, and colourful energy that instantly reminds you of childhood. The choreography was designed in a way where it didn’t feel too technical or serious. It had to feel natural, playful, and something kids would connect with. Choreographer Mudassar Khan brought that perfect mix of masti and superhero swag to the song.”
On set, that energy translated into constant movement and unscripted moments. He says, “The quintessential part of the song was that I had to be my natural, fun self along with a bunch of super enthusiastic kids. They were dancing nonstop with full excitement, and that chaos actually became the best part of the experience. The beauty of this song is that you start grooving naturally once the beats kick in, and I don’t think anything else really matters when you’re truly enjoying the process. Dance, for me, is about expressing freely. This didn’t feel like performance pressure; it felt like a celebration. When you’re surrounded by kids laughing and having fun, you automatically get drawn into that energy. That’s what I believe audiences will connect with the most.”
The song also had an enthusiastic supporter at home in son Tiger Shroff, widely regarded as one of the industry’s finest dancers. Jackie says, “Tiger is a fantastic dancer, as everyone knows. He showed me a few fun moves and kept telling me, ‘Dad, just enjoy the rhythm.’ That actually helped, because this song works best when it feels spontaneous and carefree. Tiger was excited to see me doing something this playful with the kids.”
