As an army officer’s son, actor Gurmeet Chaudhary was more than happy to be able to work with director-producer J P Dutta on his upcoming war drama, ‘Paltan’. Little did he know that his dedication and focus on his work will not just win him praise but an added set of opportunities to team up with the filmmaker again. Gurmeet, popular as the small screen’s Ram, has landed a three-film deal with J P Dutta’s production company.
While he refuses to divulge more on the impending projects, he feels grateful that the filmmaker, he once dreamt of working with, has signed a multi-film deal with him.
“I am lucky that he worked with me, and after seeing what I brought to the table, decided to sign me for three films under his banner. I don’t think too many actors get a chance like this and he reserves this honour for actors whose work pleases him. Things like this fill you with confidence that your work and your nature as an artiste are being appreciated. I can’t divulge what the film is about but trust me, like all his films, his next films, too, will be mounted on a huge canvas,” says Gurmeet, who plays officer P S Dagar in Dutta’s film based on the war of Nathu-La, in 1967.
