You are in the buzz once again with your role in C Kkompany...The three principle characters in this movie are good friends who stay in the same society. I am a crime reporter of a television show called Khalbali and much in love with a gangsters sister. I need cash to elope with my girlfriend. While other films of mine converge more on slapstick comedy, C Kkompany is a situational comedy.
With scenes canned in real locations, none of the three characters attempt to be funny.
With this film too being a multi starrer, how confident are you of carrying a film single-handedly? With a good script and production house, I think I could do the honours. Of late, I do get solo lead offers. But Ive to tread cautiously as Im in that position of my career where a slight mistake can pull me down. Why did you give C Kkompany the nod?Ive learnt from my past mistakes that the production house is as important, if not more, than the director. In this case, I agreed on condition that the films producer was worthwhile. Hence, I forwarded the script to my uncle who heads Balaji Motion Pictures. When you are working with your own production house, it only adds on if you are involved about the music director, cast and other essentials. Is that why you prefer working with Balaji?Since Ive started the production house, why not? Also, you are in the know of things when it comes to your own production house. You also know that you are Ekta Kapoors brother...I have no problems with the tag. After all, theres no denying that she is super successful. If I wasnt happy with the way my career was faring, I might have felt the pinch. I might be her brother in her circle, but my fans know her to be Tusshars sister. Fact is, nobody in my generation is as successful as Ekta. I would much rather compete with my contemporaries whom Ive left behind than with her. With Ekta being the Czarina of soaps, how come she never approached you for a part? She has never offered me a role. Maybe thats because I was never really interested in the small screen. That apart, serials take up your time 24X7.Were there times when you sought Ektas help before clinching a deal?I value her suggestions. But fact is, I know whats best for me when it comes to films just as she knows what works best on the small screen. And have you ever experienced your sisters alleged temper tantrums? There was a healthy argument between us regarding C Kkompanys prop designs and we sought a middle path. On a personal level, she isnt like that. If she loses temper, it might be because she has to get work done. At times, one tends to buckle under pressure. Ive seen Ekta apologise too.The latest on Ekta front is that Money Hai Toh Honey Hai has done a spoof on her. Whats your take?n I havent seen the film yet and it wouldnt be right to comment on the same. But if they have done it, then I must say that it wasnt done in good taste.Veering back to you, is it in your taste to keep a low profile? Its not about preference. I am not a very controversial person and like safeguarding my personal space. I go all out when my film is ready for release. Finally, is Tusshar an underrated actor? Not so with the audiences. I get my due as far as the viewers are concerned. At the end of the day, I believe in a slow and steady rise.
