I've become the face of Pakistan: Humaima Malick
Director Shoaib Mansoor’s second outing (“Khuda Kay Liye” was his first) “Bol” is a forthright comment on the travails of a girl child in an orthodox Muslim family in the interiors of Pakistan.
Eros International’s “Bol”, starring Humaima Malick, Atif Aslam, Manzar Sehbai, Iman Ali and Mahira Khan, however, manages to keep you entertained with many layers of stories unfolding throughout the film.

After “Bol” released recently in Pakistan, Humaima has become a role model for Pakistani youth, the women in particular. “They’ve learnt that there’s more to life than just delivering babies. There’s a line in the film where I say, “Agar paal nahin sakte toh paida kyun karte ho?” It has become a catchphrase. I’ve become the ‘Face of Pakistan’,” says the actress, a supermodel and brand ambassador for many beauty products in Pakistan.
Humaima went deglam for the powerful role. “It was extremely difficult but I wanted to change people’s perception about me. I am not just a fashion icon,” she says. And the actress is all praise for the director. “He is an institution. You either work with him or you go to a film school.” Produced by Geo Films Pakistan, “Bol” releases today worldwide.
