It's Boom time for Katrina's charisma!

Twenty-something, a well-toned body and a winning attitude. And this, even before Boom, her first film has been released. Katrina Kaif is different - she knows it and she flaunts it.<br /><br />Flashback to a couple of seasons back. Katrina was in London, where she had been signed up by a leading modelling agency and worked for top fashion houses. "Kaizad Gustad offered me a role in<span style="" font-style:="" italic=""> Boom</span>. I found the script interesting and, having got tired of modelling, decided to take up his offer," says Katrina.<br /><br />Shooting for <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Boom</span> provided Katrina an opportunity to visit India. "Although my father is Kashmiri, I had never visited India before. And once I was here, I just couldn''t think of leaving the country!" Ditto for acting. Because Katrina, in her own words, had a "great" experience during the making of <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Boom</span>. Better still, she''s ready to divulge details.<br /><br />"The movie has a young cast and crew and we had a real blast while shooting." How was it like to share screen space with a certain Amitabh Bachchan? "I have a few scenes with him in the movie and was aware of his larger-than-life image. I found him to be extremely nice."<br /><br />''Extremely nice'', of course is how the grapevine describes Katrina''s relationship with Salman Khan. Love is in the air? "These are baseless rumours," maintains Katrina, "As a child, I was very shy and quiet. Nothing has changed. I spend the little free time I get with a small group of friends. I don''t have time for anyone else."<br /><br />Modesty might not be her middle name, but Katrina is honest enough to admit her shortcomings. "I have been taking Hindi lessons to make the most of the offers coming my way," she reveals, "<span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Boom</span> is a Hinglish movie and I got away with my limited knowledge of Hindi. But since I want to pursue a full-time career in the movies, it is important that I learn Hindi."<br /><br />For the moment, Bollywood beckons, and Katrina is out to ensure that she doesn''t falter on the path to stardom. Like on the ramp, Katrina Kaif is taking things a step at a time. A long walk has started on the right track.<br /></div> </div>
