It’s a new release date for horror film ‘Amavas’

Be it big-budget movies or off-beat projects, it’s common to see films not being able to hit theatres on their original release date. The latest to join the list is ‘Amavas’, directed by Bhushan Patel. The film, which was originally scheduled to release on January 11, will now hit screens on February 8. According to an entertainment portal, since there were too many releases lined up for January, the makers of the film decided to push its release.

Talking to a national daily, Sachiin Joshi, the film’s male lead said, that they wanted ‘Amavas’ to reach out to a wide audience. However, talking about postponing the release, director Bhushan Patel had earlier told Bombay Times, “We are trying for top-class VFX and that is time-consuming. There is no point releasing the film in a hurry, and we want to ensure that the end product is up to the mark.”

The film, also starring Vivan Bhathena, Nargis Fakhri, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Mona Singh and Ali Asgar, is touted to be a horror film, which also an element of suspense. Interestingly, the movie was shot in a castle at Sussex (London), which is said to be haunted. Bhushan has previously helmed horror movies like ‘Alone’ (2015), ‘
