Is Tiger Shroff's 'Rambo' on hold?

The film was announced at Cannes in 2017
There's much buzz around Sylvester Stallone’s '

Last Blood

', the fifth (and probably, the final) installment of 'Rambo' franchise. Reports, however, state that the veteran Hollywood actor is, in fact, keen on having a prequel, where he's expressed a desire to explore

in his teenage years. It instantly brings to mind a much-hyped

Bollywood

adaptation of the franchise that was announced with Tiger Shroff. The film, however, has reportedly been put on hold as the director Siddharth Anand felt it was too ambitious a film to attempt now.

The filmmaker has instead gone ahead and made a two-hero film, 'War' with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger, which is up for release soon. Talking about 'Rambo' in an interview with a daily, the filmmaker said that the Hindi remake of 'Rambo' was supposed to be his next film, but it became too big a film, in terms of the budget, to rush into. Since he was constantly in discussion with Hrithik for 'War', they decided to go with it. The actor-director also believed that the experience would help them be prepared and scale up for 'Rambo'.

So, fans who've been waiting to see Rambo reinvented for Bollywood, can now look forward to Siddharth-Tiger's action extravaganza, which is likely to go on floors by 2020.
