Is this the reason behind Deepika's Hollywood film releasing a week earlier in India?
Bollywood's reigning queen bee Deepika Padukone is set to make her Hollywood debut in 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage'. The franchise starring Vin Diesel has been a big hit worldwide, including India. The film is set to release a week earlier in India than the rest of the world, January 14. The makers claim that this is being done to let the Indian viewers see the film first.

But if the film were to release on January 20 in India, to coincide with its worldwide release, it would have got an opening window of only four days.

The Indian box office will see two mega-budget superstar flicks, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' and Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil', release on January 25. These two Hindi films would then take over all screens, leaving hardly any real estate for anything else, even for Deepika's debut Hollywood film for that matter.
Maybe keeping the above dynamics in mind, 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' is releasing ahead of its worldwide release date in India.
Earlier, Irrfan Khan starrer 'Inferno' had its release date pushed ahead to steer clear of a clash with the two big Diwali releases, 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and 'Shivaay'. Whether this move is commercial or not, your guess is as good as ours.
