'Stree' was not the only horror film that struck gold at the box-office, 'Tumbbad' was the other film that proved to be the dark horse. The only difference between the two horror films is that the former is a satire. Produced by
Sohum Shah, 'Tumbbad' has been lauded for being one of the scariest horror-thrillers in recent times.
Based on a family who build a temple for Hastar, the first born of the village diety, the film directed by Rahi Anil Barve,
Anand Gandhi and Adesh Prasad jointly.
Sohum also starred in the film in an important role.
Considering the appreciation it has received, the makers are reportedly planning to make a sequel. Sohum reportedly said that it was a given that the concept of 'Tumbbad' merit a sequel. He always knew that he would take the idea forward even while working on the original. After the release of the film, he has been receiving a lot of requests for a sequel. The producer-actor informed that he has already started developing the idea and is scouting for writers for the script. He maintains that though story will be different, it will have a connection to the place and characters of the original film.
And yes, his character will return in the film too!
