Is Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ gearing up for a June 2026 release?

Salman Khan is currently working on his next big movie, 'Battle of Galwan'. After teasing fans with first-look photos, posters and shirtless pics of himself, new reports suggest that the film is eyeing a theatrical release in June 2026.

Filming details and release timeline
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film's shooting began in September in Ladakh and a major chunk of the film was shot amidst the rugged terrain. After wrapping up key action sequences, reports state that the team is expected to conclude filming in December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will turn his focus to post-production work.


The makers are reportedly planning to release the film in June 2026. A January release obviously won’t be possible now, but June is being considered, although the team is also looking for possible releases in July or August 2026.

‘Battle of Galwan’, explores the fierce 2020 confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. This rare encounter turned deadly without firearms, with soldiers engaging in brutal hand-to-hand combat using sticks and stones. The event stands out as one of the most emotional moments in recent Indian history. With its gripping narrative and strong ensemble, the film aims to deliver a heartfelt tribute to the courage and dedication of India’s armed forces.

Amitabh Bachchan’s set visit sparks speculation
Apoorva recently posted several pictures showing Bachchan on the set of ‘Battle of Galwan’, which ignited speculation among fans and gossip outlets about the legendary actor possibly joining the cast. However, Lakhia later cleared up the confusion, explaining that Bachchan was not involved with the film. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, “No, he was shooting for a commercial in the opposite studio, so I went to meet him and said hello."

An official release date for the film has yet to be announced.
