It is 73 glorious years since India got independence from the clutches of the Britishers. However, our society is still a prisoner to many problems that plague us almost every day. Shedding the light on the same, actor
Aditya Seal exclusively opened up to ETimes about the things he wants independence from on this
Independence Day. Excerpts...
The first thing, Aditya says, he wants to get independence from on this Independence Day, would be the ongoing
Coronavirus.
He said, “Life, as we know, has come to a standstill. The loss to humankind, the loss to the economy is something that will take a long time to recover from. It was so unexpected, so sudden that none of us were prepared but I think now it's gone for too long. I can't deal with this sad news every day. So I think the first thing to get rid is definitely Coronavirus.”
The second thing he says he wants to get rid of the seven deadly sins, pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth. He said, “I think all the wrong things happening to humankind have a direct relation to all the seven deadly sins, humans as a race has lost the way humans were supposed to be. You're supposed to grow together as humankind and not grow against the human being. These things do make you a human to some extent but it is something you need to have control over, getting rid of this is something which will make you a better human being. That is also my aim in life that I would not feel envy, just want to be a better human being. I think the world needs to get over all these things.”
The third thing he wants to get rid of is world politics. He added, “It's doing a lot of harm to humankind. Human beings are not moving ahead as human beings anymore as a collective unit, they're just moving ahead maybe as Indians, Americans, white people, black people, Asians, that's not the way humans were supposed to move forward, they were supposed to be one collective unit. Sadly, we don't see it like that and that is one big thing that humans have created that we need to get rid of, yes that would be number three.”
