In his father’s footsteps

When you have a father like Vinod Khanna, you don���t have to look beyond your home for a role model.
The veteran actor���s eldest son Rahul always wanted to follow in his dad���s footsteps, and recently, he had a chance to do just that, literally. Rahul who will soon be seen in Santosh Sivan���s Tahaan, where he has a ���blink-and-you-miss-it role��� says after hearing the script, and the location, he just couldn���t resist doing the film.Tahaan is a fable based in the beautiful valleys of Kashmir. ���It���s 18 long years since a film has been shot there. The place where we shot is a little beyond Pahalgam and incidentally, my father���s first film Farishtey was also shot there. So I already felt a connection with the place,��� he says and adds,
���The locals out there barely make a living but they are so welcoming and warm. Early in the morning they would get us kesar tea, and with whatever little they, had would make lavish meals for the entire unit. They also told me about their experiences with my father. The stories of my dad���s film shoot had become more of folklore for them. I felt like I had met some long lost relatives. It was an experience of a lifetime and absolutely unforgettable!���
