Imtiaz Ali: I didn't want Highway to get A-certificate

During his recent session at Kathakar festival in Delhi, Imtiaz Ali said, "Highway was a film with dacoits, but I didn't want it to be A-rated because I really wanted young boys and girls to watch it. Usmein characters bohot aggressively bolte hain, lekin woh gaali nahi bolte jiski wajah se human A-certificate mile. And Randeep's acting! Jab aapke pass gaali hoti hai script mein aur aap gaali bolte ho toh aap bohot aggressive lagte ho, lekin gaali ke bagair woh aggression zyada mushkil hota hai. Imtiaz added, "When I see what Alia's character had in the end, I just feel that I'm a mere medium, and there is a certain voice that speaks (through one's work)."
