Imran Khan reveals Rohit Shetty approached him for 'Chennai Express' but he rejected it saying, 'I don't see us…'
Imran Khan recently opened up about the projects he was offered during his initial years. The actor, who was on a sabbatical, has returned to the big screen with 'Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos'. During a conversation, the actor revealed that he rejected Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express', as he couldn't sync with the story. Let's take a look at what he has to say.
He said, "We had a couple of conversations about it. But between us, we figured that we were not in sync creatively. His narration was hilarious, and the film has turned out to be hilarious. But I don't believe that I would’ve been correct for it. I saw what he was going for; I thought it was funny."
The actor went on to express, "I don't think I was right for it, which is the conversation that we had, and I said, 'Listen, I don't see us syncing.' Shah Rukh Khan was a better choice; I don't think I could top Shah Rukh."
The actor returned to movies with a cameo in 'Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos'. Directed by Vir Das, the movie featured Vir along with Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Srushti Tawade. In an interview with PTI, Imran Khan revealed Rohit Shetty had approached him for 'Chennai Express' after the release of 'Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na'; however, after the first narration, he felt that he was not the right pick.He said, "We had a couple of conversations about it. But between us, we figured that we were not in sync creatively. His narration was hilarious, and the film has turned out to be hilarious. But I don't believe that I would’ve been correct for it. I saw what he was going for; I thought it was funny."
