Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) recently filed a police complaint against the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) at the Amboli police station in Mumbai.
The written report has been filed on the basis of pamphlets and advertisements on social media issued by FWICE that claims that the association has acquired a land measuring around 253 acres in Karjat, situated opposite Shelu station in the Raigad district.

It further mentioned that FWICE is in the process of construction of as many as 50,000 houses on the aforementioned plot of land, and has offered to sell the flats to people working in the film industry.
When contacted, TP Aggarwal, the President of IMPPA, said, “The FWICE is cheating gullible members. This is a breach of trust and playing with emotions of the workers, giving them hope when there is none”.
Meanwhile, there’s no comment from FWICE on the matter.
On the other hand, Tahsildar and the Executive Magistrate of Karjat have clarified the matter and reportedly asserted that not even a single inch of land has been obtained by FWICE. However, latest developments in the dispute are currently awaited by both parties.
