In the last couple of months, 16 films have been released targeting specific tech formats, with 11 more films scheduled to target special formats. IMAX

In the ICE (immersive cinema experience) format, the film plays on the main screen and across 12 LED panels on both auditorium walls.

“Fantasy and action-packed genres. Horror lovers can experience an immersive encounter with the upcoming Exorcist releasing in the ICE format,” says a cinema tech expert.

4DX
If you’re someone who enjoys snacking while watching a movie, you might want to avoid the 4DX format, as eatables are not allowed. This format is designed for adventure seekers – combining movie experience with an amusement park ride. Movies like Bullet Train, The Woman King, and Brahmastra: Part One: Shiva come to life on 4DX screens.
IDEAL FOR
“Sensory effects such as water splashes, scents, and motion-driven sensations. Interestingly, these sensations do not linger beyond designated scenes. The synchronised chair movements amplify the experience,” explains a tech expert.

ONYX
