I’m without love: Kelly Dorji

But Kelly Dorji has no regrets as he’s gearing up for a fresh lease in his career after playing a negative role in Nagarjuna starrer, 'Don'.

My career is equally rocking �� like right now, I��m really happy about the success of my first regional film, Don, in Telugu.I play the main villain in it and it��s my longest role till date. Of course, you wouldn��t have seen a villain like this ever,�� he adds.
Clearly, the model-turned-actor has moved on since his split with long-time girlfriend Lara Dutta and is looking forward to an upswing in his career. But why has Kelly turned to regional films? Is it because his career in Bollywood hasn��t taken off? ��I was trying to make inroads into regional cinema at pretty much the same time that I arrived in Bollywood. And acting with Nagarjuna was right up my list. So when the offer came, I grabbed it,�� explains Kelly.
But the language barrier was an issue. ��The first day I came on the sets, they gave me six pages of dialogues in Telugu and I nearly fainted! I hadn��t heard the language, let alone speak it. So when I told them that I couldn��t mug it up, they tore it apart and gave me half a page instead �� I promptly learnt it,�� he says.

But in spite of sharing screen space with Telugu star Nagarjuna, Kelly didn��t feel intimidated. ��I have managed to hold my own even when I worked with Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgan. Though Nag is such a senior actor, he��s so humble. It makes me respect these artistes even more and not feel overshadowed,�� says the actor.
And now he��s all set for another B-town film, Lahore. ��It��s a sports film in which I play an Indian kickboxer. This role too has negative shades,�� he says. But doesn��t he ever want to play a hero? ��I��m satisfied playing a hero in real life,�� laughs Kelly.

So yet another sports film �� will it be noticed at the BO? ��Lahore shows kickboxing in authentic style. There are no cinematic liberties taken, so I��m sure people will enjoy it,�� says the actor.
But why hasn��t Kelly been able to hit the big league yet? ��I think I��m not as aggressive as the rest. In this field, it is essential to blow your own trumpet. Also, when the media started speculating more about my personal life, I shied away from them. I guess I haven��t enjoyed as much success as I��d like to,�� reasons the actor.
But news about his split with Lara was manna for gossip columns. ��Yeah, but I don��t feel bad about it because it comes with the territory. Yes, I am without love but right now I��m concentrating on my career. I don��t think I have it in me to have a love life right now...,�� trails off Kelly.
