‘I’m playing a gangster in a Bengali film’

Shooting of Via Darjeeling had brought him to Kolkata last year. Prroshant Narayannan tells CT that though he is playing an aspiring actor in Mujhe Ramuji Se Milna Hai, in real life he wouldn’t give his limb to work with any director.
‘I’m playing a gangster in a Bengali film’
Kolkata Calling
There is a movie called Palashpur 2 Mile. Its set in some remote village and I think it would be interesting to come and do something like this in January spend some seven days shooting, complete a film and return to Mumbai. I play a gangster involved in coal smuggling in places like Ranigunj and Asansol. It is directed by Partho Ganguly.
1x1 polls
It sounds like an interesting film. For these kind of things, I get contacted even from Timbuktoo. Who else will do the roles that are written for me?
An actor prepares
Letting me be and not binding me with poverty-ridden producers can get the best out of me. If people dont have ample money to make movies, they should just start a paan shop rather than put lots of people in stupid predicaments. I am an intelligent person and if the person that you are interacting with is not in the same plane, I do have a problem.
Via Darjeeling
Well, it was a five-day cakewalk for me. But still as the location for us was just that drawing room where we had to show our talents, it was slightly geographically restricted. But, I guess, people thought that I really did a commendable job and have been recommending me here and there. Assessing anything for a film like this would be slightly difficult. But, it goes without saying that the rest have a long way to go, before reaching anywhere near.

Meeting Ramu on screen
Im doing a film titled Mujhe Ramuji Se Milna Hai. The story of the film is in the title itself. I like simple things. And even though I am not personally very keen on meeting the gentleman, I would gladly do this role of an actor who wants to meet him. Presence-wise in the film, it would be less as far as Ramu himself is concerned. But I guess we are not going to glorify him either. It is just a film from the point of view of this actor from Delhi who wants to meet Ramu. I dont know about how other actors are doing their thing about persuasion, but if I think something is interesting and I want it, then I just get it.
To make or not to make a spoof
If the film had been a spoof, they could have gone and asked Tusshar, Arshad, Shreyas, Sharman, Sahil, Ajay, and a lot of other spoof specialists. In fact, I suggested that they take Farhan (Akhtar) in the main role. They were insisting on Karan (Johar). Ultimately I am doing it. So, its not a spoof at all.
Giving an arm to meet a director
Nobody. My arms are too precious. Ive already done Kaizad Gustads Bombil and Beatrice, Pravesh Bharadwajs Mr Singh/Mrs Mehta, Aijaz Khans The White Elephant and Ketan Mehtas Rang Rasiya. If tomorrow something changes in my saleability, I know of some people who would not just give an arm, but would give their mangoes also.
Butt seriously
I am thinking of going straight frontal nudity. There is no other way of taking attention from these really mediocre actors and good bodies.
Hit and miss
Its luck. Id not call it bad luck though. And as I keep saying that I dont want to be anywhere, or be anybody.
Joining the bandwagon
My album is called Calmasutra and the sutra is written in Hindi. My band is called PCO. It is an actors
representation of a music album, and its got its own different sound in its conception itself.
