Actress
Sandeepa Dhar is in
London
on work and is enjoying very minute spent there. “I have been to London multiple times before this. I was in Paris for a fest on July 28 and then I came to London on August 2 as we are now performing here.” She says she takes about two major vacations in a year. “One is always with my parents and one with my friends. I did a trip with my parents two months ago and now it’s due with my friends. My trips leave me refreshed and they are generally for 10 days. But this one is a little big; it’s about a month long because we are performing in two different countries.”
Weather and shoppingSandeepa loves cities. “I am pretty much a city girl,” she confesses, “For work, I get to visit so many of them. And I have always loved the general vibe of London. It has great food, great places to go and chill with family and friends. London also has great weather. The best part is, of course, shopping. You get some amazing stuff here. I have picked up stuff in London which has come to India two years later.”
Sightseeing
and pictures
At Tower Bridge
So, how did she spend her time there? “I did go sightseeing. My fave places to see are
Stratford-upon-Avon
, Bath,
St. Paul’s Cathedral
and
South Bank
. I also love taking pictures when I am outside and whenever I am in London, my phone gets bombarded with pictures. The sky is just so pretty here, the colors look beautiful and the atmosphere is so nice. The pictures come out as if there is a natural filter in the picture.”
Food, tours and shopping
Enjoying the food
We ask Sandeepa what foods and dishes she tasted there? She replies, “I have kind of tried so many different kinds of cuisine and I just had Korean food. I have also tried pan-Asian, Italian, Spanish and Mexican fare. I recently went to the
Borough Market
, where you get food from different countries of the world and you can also taste one dish from every other country. My first pitstop when I come to London is
Wagamama
. I have a favourite dish called firecracker here; its spicy as hell, but it’s the yummiest thing ever. I also love the
natas from
Nando's
. These two things I have to have as soon as I get to London.”
In between the food and sightseeing, Sandeepa also makes time for other activities. She informs, “I do a lot of cycle tours whenever I am in the UK because the roads are apt for this. The weather adds to it, too. I do a lot of walking tours around the city.” When it comes to shopping, she also picks up a few things for family and friends. “The tea is famous here so I carry a whole lot of different teas from England and I gift it to my friends. I wish I could take back pins. I love pins and I wish I could carry them home back to India,” she adds.
