‘Ikkis’: Agastya Nanda turns emotional remembering late Dharmendra at music launch; calls it an ‘honour and privilege’

The makers of ‘Ikkis’ have dropped the film’s first song, ‘Sitaare’, setting an emotional tone for the much-talked-about military drama. Arijit Singh lends his voice to this soulful track, which beautifully conveys a quiet intensity of love. The song paints a vivid picture of the heartfelt connection between Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia’s characters. During the launch, Agastya became teary-eyed as he spoke about Dharmendra, whose presence in the film adds even deeper emotional weight.

At the event, Agastya said, “You know for me it’s very emotional because Dharam ji worked with all generations of my family. He worked with my great grandfather, grandfather and I had the privilege to share screen space with him. As sir said, it’s an honour, a huge privilege and I am extremely sad that he couldn’t see the love he deserves. It is emotional for all of us."

‘Sitaare’: A tender song of love

Amidst the film’s powerful backdrop of courage, duty and national pride, ‘Sitaare’ shines through as a delicate young love. Crafted and produced by White Noise Collectives, the track features Arijit’s soulful vocals brought to life by Amitabh Bhattacharya’s amazing lyrics.

About ‘Ikkis’

Under the direction of Sriram Raghavan and producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, ‘Ikkis’ brings to life the stirring journey of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetpal, India’s youngest-ever Param Vir Chakra recipient. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the film paints a powerful picture of courage, sacrifice, and honour. Apart from Agastya and Simar Bhatia, the film also features impressive turns by Jaideep Ahlawat and the late Dharmendra, whose performance adds a deeply emotional layer. Releasing in theatres on December 25, ‘Ikkis’ is poised to leave audiences both inspired and moved, with Sikandar Kher and Deepak Dobriyal delivering key supporting roles.
