‘Satyameva Jayate’, starring
Manoj Bajpayee, has done well at the box office. Despite sharing its release date with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’, the film raked in moolah at the ticket counters. Along with Manoj, who was appreciated for his brilliant performance, John also got noticed for his performance in the film.
Now, talking to an entertainment website, the film’s director,
Milap Zaveri, has said that it was filmmaker
Rohit Dhawan — varun Dhawan’s brother and David Dhawan’s son — who convinced John to take up the project.
Milap told the website that he wasn’t sure if John would join his project, as his last film hadn’t done well. However, when Rohit got to know about it, he told Milap to not hesitate to approach the actor. Rohit told Milap that John isn’t someone who judges a person by his past successes and failures, and purely goes by the merit of the script. Looking back, Milap said, Rohit deserves the credit for convincing him to approach John.
Soon after, Milap recalled, he gave John a narration of the script. And, within 48 hours, the actor called back, giving his nod for the project.
