Ibrahim Ali Khan’s debut film ‘Nadaaniyan’ has sparked mixed reactions, with social media users criticizing the lack of chemistry between him and co-star Khushi Kapoor. While many praised Ibrahim’s dance skills, choreographer Vijay Ganguly recently revealed that Ibrahim is not a naturally gifted dancer but a hardworking one.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Vijay Ganguly, who choreographed the festive song Tirkit Dhoom, shared, “Ibrahim is not a fantastic dancer, but he is very hardworking. Every time he didn’t get a step right, my assistants and I would go out of our way to ensure he got it.” Despite coming from a Nawabi family, Ganguly praised Ibrahim for his humility and dedication to learning.

Having worked with Ibrahim’s mother, Amrita Singh in ‘Saaheb’ (1985) as a child artiste and also choreographing Sara Ali Khan’s songs in Atrangi Re and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Vijay Ganguly recalled, “Sara would wake me up at 4 AM in Goa to rehearse. She is transparent and has no filters. Sometimes we had to tell her to calm down.” He also mentioned working with Saif Ali Khan in Chef and Bhoot Police, noting that Saif has improved his dancing over time.

On the other hand, even though ‘Nadaaniyan’ had huge expectations from the audiences, the Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer is getting a lot of trolls and criticisms from the audiences.

Etimes only gave a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 for the Khushi Kapoor starrer with our official review reading, “We get that the film doesn’t intend to be a thought-provoking piece of cinema but a breezy glamorous chick-flick cum teen campus romance with sweet K-drama feels. But even this light-hearted genre can create binge-worthy narratives like ‘Never Have I Ever’ or ‘To All the Boys I've Loved Before’ did. Ananya Panday starrer Call me Bae, also written and created by Ishita Moitra (co-writer here) and backed by the same makers had more heart and heft. Nadaaniyan could have perhaps worked better as a series with more time to build characters and their backstories. As a film, it makes you feel nothing. The story moves in a haphazard manner and lacks direction. This takes away from scenes that could have been emotionally charged.”
