I want to focus on lead roles now: Vihaan Samat

Vihaan Samat has played interesting supporting roles, but The Royals actor says he’s now ready to step into the spotlight with lead roles. “Hopefully, now I will get a big theatrical launch. I think I have done enough to prove myself in a certain space. I am experienced enough to go bigger. I want to focus on movies and lead roles. After all, storytelling is much different if you are doing it in two hours versus eight hours,” he shares.Reflecting on his journey, Vihaan, who was also seen in Mismatched and Call Me Bae, opens up about missed opportunities. He recounts, “I had auditioned for Ms. Marvel and Free Guy. My first audition was for A Suitable Boy. Then there was a Raj and DK project. I tested for Gehraiyaan, too. I was very excited to work in the Raj and DK project. The team had loved my work, but I was later informed that another actor (who auditioned for the role) looked better with the cast. Some things are not in your control, and I don’t look at it as a loss, but instead as an achievement. Many well-connected and established actors auditioned for Ctrl, but I got the part.”‘I am single’Vihaan was also in the news for his rumoured link-up with Radhika Madan. He says, “Rumours keep coming and going. It is better not to react to it and better not to comment.” So, is he single? “Yes,” Vihaan confirms. About what he looks for in a partner, he shares, “I believe in companionship. It should be about witnessing each other’s lives and being there for one another in difficult times. I want to be with someone who is talented, humble, loves to travel and loves making new memories.”
