I still get anxious before my film’s release: Sunny Deol

In Sanamjit Singh Talwar’s film Dishkiyaoon, Sunny Deol is playing a Haryanvi character for the first time. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who turns producer with the film, was impressed with the actor’s preparation for the role and his punctuality. She says, “Actors can get complacent after spending many years in the industry. Sunny is usually not the kind to do any homework, but he learnt Haryanvi lehza (diction) for this role.”
Says Sunny, “I have played Punjabi characters many times before and wanted to do something different.But I usually don’t learn anything. I do whatever I can and leave the rest to the director.” He says he still gets anxious on the day of his film’s release. “But, there’s not much I can do about it. Can I?”

Shilpa is also feeling nervous this time around “because I have put in my money (laughs)”. She adds, “Usually, there is more onus on the heroes because they carry the film on their shoulders. I just did my work and have left the rest to God.”
For Harman Baweja, it’s going to be “nerve-racking”. “It’s a day when something dear to you is given to the world and everyone has an opinion on it. I am crossing my fingers, hands, legs and toes hoping that the film works,” he says.
