Zaheer Iqbal and
Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot this year after dating for nearly seven years. In an interview, Zaheer shared that when he went to meet Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, he was extremely intimidated, and his voice was shaking.
“When I had to go and ask for permission to propose, I was so scared. I was shaking and talking, and I kept thinking, what if he suddenly says, ‘Khamosh’? But he was so nice about it, he was so lovely,” Zaheer told Galatta India.
Now, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, when asked if Sonakshi has ever said the word ‘Khamosh’—her dad’s most famous dialogue—to him in the last seven years, Zaheer replied, “More than her, I use the word on her.”
“I’ve never said it to him,” added Sonakshi. Zaheer also shared that she has used it once or twice jokingly but not otherwise.
Zaheer and Sonakshi will soon be seen on screen together in their latest film
Tu Hai Meri Kiran. This will be their second film together after
Double XL, which also starred Huma Qureshi in the lead. Sonakshi recently denied being a part of Rajkummar Rao’s first production
Toasters, which was supposed to stream directly on Netflix. Addressing the rumors, she said, “I’ve not heard about it… Mujhe abhi tak call nahi aaya... aayega toh kar lungi... main karna chahungi, call aa jayega toh accha hai" (I haven’t received a call yet, but if it comes, I would love to do it).
Sonakshi recently completed 14 years in the industry, with
Dabangg having been released on September 10, 2010. Since then, she has gone on to work in notable projects like
Rowdy Rathore,
Son of Sardaar,
R… Rajkumar,
Mission Mangal,
Dahaad, and
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
