After completing his schooling in Bokaro, Imran went to Delhi for further studies at the Delhi University. But he has maintained his ties with the city and has visited Ranchi several times for sports and cultural events of his school.

“We used to have so much fun while freaking out in the city, trying out different ice creams and other street food. I have a special bonding with the place. We might also come to Ranchi with the play — “The Last Salute” — based on the shoe-hurling incident on former US President George Bush. I am excited to visit the city after a long gap,” he said.
So, what made him to take acting? “Since my school days, I used to do skits and participate in various cultural events, I was always fond of acting. People used to compliment my looks. Soon I realized that I should try my luck in Bollywood,” he said. Elaborating on how he got associated with the Bhatt camp, the actor said, “I was at the Dubai airport when Bhatt uncle first saw me. The first thing he told me was: “Arre bhai tum toh hero dekhte ho”. That’s how I became the part of the play, “The Last Salute”, and subsequently, bagged a role in “Jism 2”.”
But according to sources, wasn’t he a part of “Jannat 2” initially? “Yes, I was doing it. It was the role of a cop along with Randeep Hooda. But Mahesh uncle said it won’t be an apt movie for my launch. So, I opted out. I am doing “Jism 2” with Sunny Leone, Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda. The shoot of movie is expected to start on April 1 in Jaipur,” said the actor, who is open to all sorts of roles provided they are pivotal to the script.
On being asked about his role in “Jism 2”, he said, “I play a Delhi boy. I am playing a narcotics sleuth.” With Sunny Leone around and the film’s poster already having become controversial, is he ready to go shirtless? “If the script demands, I don’t mind going shirtless. I have long crossed the barriers of being just a small town boy. When I moved to Delhi, it was a huge change for me. It took me a year to adapt to the big city. Now, I have found my groove,” shared Imran.
Some big names in industry are tagged with the Bhatt camp. Would he mind being labelled that way too? “No, never. Mahesh uncle is like a mentor to me. Even if I get offers from other production
houses, I will seek his guidance first to decide on my choices. He is in the film industry from years. There can’t be anyone better than him to guide me through,” Imran signed off.
