Here��s one more story that will inspire others. Gayatri Patel, who was born in Surat and brought up in the US, is now ready to make her debut in the tinsel town.
I have a house in the Sonifalia area of Surat and have spent many holidays there. I remember going to Dumas beach on Sundays, flying kites in the sheri, relishing the famous pav bhaaji near the Tapi river and many such fun things.My family and I have come a long way since then.
Looking back at the journey, she muses about having to be patient. ��Being spotted in a coffee shop is an old story. One has to work towards one��s success and growth. While all my aspiring actress friends partied till wee hours in the morning, I got up early to attend my yoga and kathak classes. I did get a little disheartened when I didn��t get instant gratification in terms of success, but my hard work and discipline paid off in the end.�� Director Aarif Sheikh was looking for a fabulous dancer to cast as the lead heroine for his film Lets Dance and he found that in Gayatri. ��I have learnt jazz and ballet but it was kathak that gave me the edge. I have grown up on Hindi movies in the US and have always dreamt of being an actress. Bagging this role is a dream come true. It��s like my prayers are answered,�� shares Gayatri.
��As an artiste, I follow performances and not particular actors or actresses. The industry has one Kajol and one Rani Mukerji. What the industry was waiting for was a new, fresh and talented actress and they have got that in me,�� she says confidently.

Gayatri says that she wants to, ��work in 10 good films in the next five years. I want the audience to go ��ooh, this film has Gayatri Patel��. There is no point in doing just about any kind of films. I want to do cinema that makes a difference, good cinema that is remembered and treasured always.
