I feel very blessed to be in Varanasi: Govinda

Actor Govinda was on a spiritual sojourn in Varanasi on Saturday. The 'Haseena Maan Jayegi' actor, along with his wife Sunita, visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, where the two performed a special puja conducted by Pt Srikant Mishra, a priest there. He also visited Annapurna, Kaal Bhairav and Sankat Mochan temples. "I feel very blessed to be in Varanasi that holds a very special place in my heart.There was no specific reason for the puja, I just wanted to pay my reverence," said the actor.

Though the actor';s visit was kept a secret, as news spread of his presence, a large crowd gathered to have a glimpse of Govinda. As he walked out of the temple, some even tried taking a selfie with him.
Govinda in fact, has a strong Varanasi connect, as his mother Nirmala Devi, a known vocalist, hailed from the city and his maternal uncle, tabla maestro Lachchu Maharaj, lived in Varanasi till his death, a few years ago.
