Rati Agnihotri (TOI Photo)You moved out of the spotlight when you were at your peak. When you look back, are there any regrets?None at all. I left because I wanted to, and my priorities were different at that point of time. Its not that I was missing the hustle and bustle of Bollywood or that I was insecure and hence made a comeback. My second innings started with Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi and that too, because the director said that I had no option but to act in his project! And after that, projects kept pouring in.
I must say that I got a wonderful welcome from the film industry. Now I am doing a lot of Bollywood movies like Luck, Chal Chale .
You made your debut with South Indian films, any chance of a comeback there too?Right now, I have no offers from the South.
Yesteryears actors are making a comeback. Were seeing a lot of Tanuja, Zeenat and Dimple now...Its good to see that they are coming back with a bang (laughs)!
What was it like to compete with juniors in a dance show on television?Oh, it was like a picnic on the sets! Winning is not always important in life, as you win some and you lose some. Its part of the game.
Do you feel a womans life begins after 40?I dont believe in categorising life into 20s, 30s or 40s, as every stage in a womans life is significant.
Most of the stars are into television shows now. Are you game for it?I love the medium of acting, so if something comes my way which is not run-of-the-mill, Im game for it.
Ek Duuje Ke Liye made you a star. But we never saw you being paired opposite Kamal Hasan in any other movie.Maybe we will be, in the near future! Who knows?
Don has been remade. If Ek Duuje Ke Liye is remade, who would you want to play your character? It has to be a fresh face.
