However, instead of ignoring the chatter, the ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ actor stepped in with a humble and heartfelt request , asking everyone to stop the comparisons altogether.

The drama began when a fan shared a post online that read, “The Internet declared Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat hero is miles better than Saiyaara’s male lead.” The comparison instantly caught attention and soon spread across social media.

Harshvardhan, who came across the post, decided to address it directly. Taking to his Instagram stories, he wrote, “Guys I beg you Please stop!” followed by a folded hands emoji. But he didn’t stop there. The actor also commented under the same post, adding, “Guys pls stop, y r u even comparing two people and 2 movie characters, Ahaan is v sincere and talented. Please stop. I love his work and am a fan of his work and style.”

A few days earlier, another fan had posted a reel comparing Harshvardhan’s character from ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ with Ahaan’s Krish Kapoor from ‘Saiyaara’. The reel described Harshvardhan’s character as a man without vices, unlike Krish Kapoor, who was labelled a womaniser.

When Harshvardhan saw the video, he replied with a light-hearted comment, “Ma’am, aapki kismat mein bhi ek aisa ladka LIKHA hai (Ma’am, a guy like that is written in your destiny too).”

His playful remark quickly caught people’s attention, sparking a wave of reactions. Soon, social media was buzzing with users debating which character was “better”. While some praised Harshvardhan’s reply, others discussed the two characters’ personalities and storylines.

‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ earns decent box office numbers

Directed by Milaap Zaveri, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ tells the story of Vikramaditya, a passionate artist played by Harshvardhan Rane. He falls in love with Adaa, a free-spirited woman played by Sonam Bajwa, who believes love is about freedom rather than control.

What starts as a romantic relationship soon turns intense when Vikramaditya’s love becomes possessive, and his insecurities take over. The film released in cinemas on 21 October and has done well at the box office. As per Sacnilk, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ earned around Rs 55.15 crore (India net) in its first 10 days.
