Actor AmitaPathak may not be an off-the cuff name as yet, despite being a Bollywood offspring. However, the 20-something star kid (proudcer Kumar Mangat's daughter) who debuted with a forgettable film Haal-e-Dil in 2008 followed by Aakrosh, 2010 is candid enough to acknowledge the downward spiral in her career.

Fortunately, her father followed up with a quickie, Bitto Boss, alongside newbie Pulkit Samrat. "This is a comeback of sorts for me as and Bitto Boss, will be a deciding factor where I stand in the industry," reveals Amita, admitting there is a lot riding on her slim shoulders.
Interestingly, Amita had to audition thrice for her own home-production. "People may have their own notions about star kids having an easy way out but it is nothing like that. I gave three auditions for this film. In fact, when I reached the office I met Pulkit there and he was surprised to see me and laughed when he heard that I had to audition for my own film," she reveals, adding, " There were times when I was rejected for a couple of films from my production house. Obviously, it didn't work out for me, otherwise I would have been doing all my father's films".
Curiously, the lissome lass was considered for another home production Pyaar ka Punchnama but opted out because of casting issues. "I didn't do a film where I wouldn't be the lead actor," she says emphatically.
Do shimmying to item songs in chiffon cholis and sequinned bustier on her agenda too? "If the director thinks I can do justice to an item number, then why not," she says. Quiz her about the backlash from her family and she says, "My family has given me my own space and they trust me completely.
While she is awaiting the release of her upcoming film, she candidly admits there are no Bollywood projects in her kitty as yet. "I am doing a Punjabi film with Rannvijay at the moment," she signs off
