I am very much single: Aftab Shivdasani
When he was just 14 months old, he started his career modelling for a baby food brand. Years later, he went on to become the bespectacled Jugal in Mr India. Girls fell in love with him when he appeared in Mast.
Aftab Shivdasani's cute looks, along with that dimpled smile of his, has floored women for years. So when he came to town to judge Pantaloons Femina Miss Maharashtra 2011 pageant, it wasn’t surprising to see girls cheering for him.

We took the opportunity to ask him if he was dating someone. He immediately replied, “Yes, I am dating these contestants. But on a serious note, no, I am not dating anyone. I am very much single.”
After Kambakkht Ishq, Daddy Cool and Aloo Chaat in 2009, we spotted him in Bin Bulaye Baraati after two years. So, what did he do during his long break? “I travelled a lot and spent a lot time with myself which allowed me to think clearly about my work and what makes me happy. I did a lot of shows to keep the ball rolling. Being a creative person, one should, once in a while, go into isolation,” he said matter-of-factly.
Looking rejuvenated and happy after his long break, Aftab looked all set to resume work. So, is he on signing spree already? “I’ve done a cameo in Abbas Mastan’s Players. It was fun doing a movie after a long time. I am also about to start my work in two more films by the end of the year,” he said.
In the city to judge the beauty contest, he did look happy. But was he not nervous or had he been on the judging panel before? “Firstly, I am very happy and excited but, at the same time, nervous too as this is my first time as a judge. I think it’s a big responsibility to decide someone’s destiny. It takes a great deal of effort and understanding to make someone win,” said he.
As he got ready for the big evening, we asked him to give a message to his fans. “Just be happy and live life to the fullest. Do what you feel like,” he signed off with a big smile.
