Like any young, carefree girl, she packs her bag, changes into jeans and T-shirt, switches on her i-pod, plugs ear phones and walks down the road while enjoying the music. However, there is a slight difference with the growing crime rate in Mumbai and women being targeted like never before. Ileana D'Cruz, says, she has become more vigilant now.

“The need of the hour is to be brave, sensible and alert. I like to believe that I am street smart. But I am incredibly wary now. I have bolts on the door with solid locking system. I am careful where I go and I don’t step out too much in the night,” she says.
Adding on further, she said, “I am privileged and fortunate because I have lovely set of people working for me but I wonder how other girls handle stuff on their own. I think we girls should know limited amount of self -defense so that we can protect ourselves if something happens in the middle of the night.”
