‘I am Shah Rukh Khan because of Salim Khan’: When SRK recalled sharing meals at Salman Khan’s home during his struggling days
Veteran screenwriter and Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday. Reports suggest he was placed on a ventilator following a minor brain haemorrhage. As his condition worsened, numerous Bollywood stars visited the hospital to show support for the Khan family. Throughout his amazing career, Salim has guided and mentored several leading figures in the film industry, including Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan recalls Salim Khan’s support during struggle days
In an old conversation with IANS back in 2018, Shah Rukh spoke extensively about Salim Khan’s generosity and shared how the veteran screenwriter and his family stood by him during his struggling days. Recalling his early years in Mumbai, Shah Rukh revealed, “The first time I came to Mumbai as a struggling actor, I had my meals at Salman’s place where Salim Khan ji supported me a lot. He said, “Their Galaxy house was always open. Anyone who wanted to come, could come. No lock, always open. You could just push it anytime and walk right in. Whenever you wanted. You could open their fridge and eat whatever you want. I didn’t do that, of course. You want their protein shake to drink? You want their vitamins or heat up their leftover biryani? For those unaware, Salim Khan resides at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai with his two wives, Salma Khan and Helen, along with his sons, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, and Arbaaz Khan and their respective families.
