The 'Gangs of Wasseypur' girl, who is known for essaying a few choice roles was recently in Jodhpur. And no, it's not a vacation. Huma was filming alongside British filmmaker
Gurinder Chadha for an upcoming British-Indian historical drama. And her tryst with the Brit crew left her much impressed. Says Huma, "One thing we need to learn from the west is how professional they are about their work.
A 7.30 am call time means just that. That's something we ned to imbibe from them." And it's not that she's glorifying them. Instead, Huma feels that the western filmmakers too can lean a bit from their Indian counterparts, "People in west need to learn from us how we work on our stories."
Huma also feels that unlike Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, other Indian actors aren't too keen on working in international movie projects. "
Indian actors are afraid to go abroad because people are very professional over there. In India, we have become very lazy. Everything happens slowly and as per God's will. A 9 am call time means we start working at whatever time we wish," says Huma. Having said that, she agrees that the quality of roles in Hollywood for Indian actors has improved over the years. She says, "Earlier, we were never given the main role. We were always the sidekicks."

"She says, "If I am playing an Indian in a Hollywood film, I won't do it in any funny Indian accent. Earlier Indians played caricatures in international movies. But today we do stories that are original and not the ones that stereotype Indians in any way." This she feels is positive change. Well, she couldn't have been more right!
