In an interview on the HER Health Talks channel, Sunaina revealed her battle with cancer and brain tuberculosis. She shared that she first noticed alarming blood clots during her period while working as a co-producer with her father. At her mother’s urging, she visited a doctor. Sunaina recalled telling her mother, "It’s cancer," to which her mom responded, "What rubbish are you speaking." Determined, Sunaina decided she would stay strong for her family and fight through it.

Sunaina Roshan shared that she was diagnosed with lymphoma of the cervix, describing it as one of the rarest forms of cancer. She admitted that the most difficult moment for her emotionally was when her hair began to fall out due to the treatment. Each time she entered the ICU, her main concern was whether she would lose her hair, a question she asked so often that the doctor likely grew weary of it.

Sunaina Roshan also discussed her diagnosis of brain tuberculosis, recalling how she was in a delirious state by the time she reached the hospital. She questioned the stigma associated with TB, noting that it's often linked to coughing and lung issues. However, she emphasized that TB can affect various parts of the body and isn't contagious in most cases.

Sunaina Roshan also spoke about her other health challenges, including diabetes, sleep apnea, and high blood pressure. She mentioned losing a significant amount of weight, but it was her battle with jaundice that became a turning point. Despite having a fatty liver for years, she recently managed to reverse it from grade 3 to grade 1, an achievement that left her overwhelmed with pride and in tears for an entire day.

Sunaina Roshan expressed her strong dislike for being viewed as a victim, preferring instead to be recognized as a survivor. She shared that her parents and brother are her fitness inspirations. Despite never envisioning herself on such a fitness journey, she is determined to avoid needing a wheelchair or relying on others as she ages. Sunaina credited her brother's unwavering dedication, which she has witnessed firsthand, as a key motivator in her own pursuit of strength and resilience.
