Hrithik Roshan once revealed that Salman Khan helped him build his body for ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’; invited him for 2 AM workout sessions: ‘He is the best in the business’

Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are two of Bollywood’s biggest stars today. Though they entered the film industry in different decades, both share a passion for fitness that has inspired millions across India. Hrithik’s nervous Bollywood debut

Hrithik made his Bollywood debut at the age of 26 with the romantic film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, directed by his father Rakesh Roshan. Before the film’s release, Hrithik was very nervous and wanted to do everything possible to look his best on the big screen. He even reached out to Salman Khan for help with bodybuilding.

Salman’s unexpected support

Hrithik sought help to build his physique and called Salman Khan for bodybuilding tips. During past episode of ‘Bigg Boss’, Hrithik revealed that Salman gave him keys to his gym, a kind gesture that deeply touched him. Salman often called Hrithik at 2 AM, inviting him to join late-night workouts. Though unsure at first, Hrithik trusted Salman and got up for those sessions, which helped him transform his body for his debut film.

Hrithik’s preparations for a double role

In a past interview with BBC, Hrithik had shared that he meditated and took singing and acting classes to ace his dual role of Rohit and Raj in ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’. “I knew the physicality was very important, especially for this film where I was doing a double role, Rohit in the first part and Raj in the second half. I thought it would be nice if I could, even physically show the difference between the two characters. So, I was training myself for a year but I was not seeing the kind of results I wanted to see,” recalled Hrithik.

Then, the actor decided to call Salman. “I did everything that I could, including calling the biggest star Salman Khan, who did not know me at all. I just asked myself who is the best in the business, it is Salman and I said, ‘I have to try this. I have to try asking him what you do.'”

What’s next for Hrithik and Salman?

On the work front, Hrithik is gearing up for his upcoming highly anticipated ‘War 2’ starring Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. The film is all set to hit cinemas on August 14.

Meanwhile, Salman was last seen in ‘AR Murugadoss' Sikandar’, which also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj. The film was a box office disappointment. He will soon be seen hosting ‘Bigg Boss 19’, and is also working on his next film, ‘Battle of Galwan’.
