Actor Kajol says her character of Noyonika from her maiden series "The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha" is the latest milestone in her career and she hopes to achieve more in the years to come. The actor, who turned 49 on Saturday, said she is happy the Disney+ Hotstar show appealed to the audiences across sections of society.

"It feels great. I love the fact that all kinds of people have watched it, and it is not the serial that has been appealing for one section of society. I am really happy that everyone has universally liked it and watched it...

"I have a lot of milestones, landmarks, and Noyonika is the latest one. I hope to have a lot more," Kajol told a media outlet.
‘Saturday Night’ to ‘Dear Friend’: Movies not fit for Friendship Day viewing

While Malayalam cinema boasts a plethora of heartwarming and feel-good films that perfectly capture the essence of friendship, another side of the coin exists. There are several Malayalam movies that might be better choices for a lighthearted Friendship Day viewing due to their themes, emotions, or narratives. Let's take a closer look at why these particular movies might not fit the bill for a Friendship Day movie marathon.

Unlike the title, the Indrajith Sukumaran starrer ‘College Days’ is exactly the opposite of life in college. This thriller film is filled with deceitful, toxic friends who would go to any extent to prove they are cool or to hide their secrets. GN Krishnakumar’s directorial explores the lives of young medical students whose lives take a drastic turn as one of them kills an innocent student named Ananthu.

Friendship after college is a fine thing, but when things go out of control it can be a nuisance to others and the Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Saturday Night’ is a clear-cut example of what kind of friends you should never have in your life. Although the director Roshan Anddrews intention was to generate laughter out of the activities done by ‘Kirukkanum Koottarum’, the overall output turned out to be a disaster.

The next best example of a movie that cannot be watched on a good friendship day is the Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Dear Friend’. The movie revolves around a group of friends staying in Bangalore and things go bad when one among them disappears, leaving a cryptic letter.

Blessy-Mohanlal’s ‘Bhramaram’ is indeed one of the best drama thriller films in Mollywood. The movie puts forward the best example of how your perfect life can be ruined with the inclusion of bad friends. A small joke made by Sivankutty’s friends during their childhood turns out to be a big disaster in his life.

Another film that is not perfect to view on Friendship Day is the Sreenivasan starrer comedy film ‘Pavam Pavam Rajakumaran’. As the title itself suggests, even a very innocent man’s life can be turned into a disaster if he is filled with fake hopes and toxic friends. Sreenivasan’s character gets cheated by his friends into believing that he is loved by a beautiful girl who is a bank employee. Later Sreenivasan’s character’s life gets completely ruined, until the final twist is revealed!

"The Trial", directed by Suparn S Varma, revolves around Noyonika (Kajol), who is forced to return as a practising lawyer after her husband Rajeev (played by Jisshu Sengupta), a judge, is imprisoned for a sex and corruption scandal. The series is the Indian adaptation of American legal drama "The Good Wife".

Asked about the second season of "The Trial", the actor said the streamer would be in a better position to confirm the same.

A day after her birthday, Kajol took to social media to thank fans for their best wishes.

"This room and this day was filled with so much love and laughter and blessings and all the good things that I can't even name .. all I can say is that I am blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed ..

"Thank u to all and everyone who loves me.. I felt it yesterday .. from my friends and family to my super awesome fans .. love you right back .. #birthdayspecial #cakingitup #lovestatus #sograteful (sic)" she posted on Instagram on Sunday.

Kajol, who will next be seen in "Do Patti", was recently in the capital to attend the 2023 Jagran Film Festival.
