Homebound cleared with multiple cuts and alterations

Homebound, which has been selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars and has already earned critical acclaim at Cannes and Toronto, was cleared for release with multiple cuts and alterations.

While the film’s team has remained silent on the matter, unit members were reportedly quoted as saying the film has been “destroyed in parts.”

A source familiar with the certification process said, “The film waited for over three months for a screening at the CBFC. The CBFC was not giving a date for its screening for months."

The film has received a UA16+ certificate with multiple cuts. CBFC member Nagabharana flew from Bengaluru to Mumbai to head the revision committee for Homebound.
