'Heropanti 2', 'Badhaai Do' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2': 5 Sequels that will hit the theatres in 2022

With that in mind, we look ahead to the films we expect to see gracing theatres in 2022 and you won't be disappointed. There are some great titles lined up, especially sequels. From 'Heropanti 2' to 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', we bring you sequels set to release in 2022.

Helmed by Ahmed Khan, 'Heropanti 2' stars Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tara Sutaria. It is a sequel to Shroff's debut film opposite Kriti Sanon. The film will be released this year during Eid, on April 29, 2022.

2018 comedy film 'Badhaai Ho' featuring Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra turned out to be a box office hit. Now, the makers are back with the franchise. 'Badhaai Do' is directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni. The new film will star Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar and is slated to release in February.

To tickle your funny bone, Anees Bazmee has taken the baton from Priyadarshan to direct 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'. This new film is a sequel to the 2007 hit horror-comedy. The original film starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. We will get to see Kartik Aaryan, Tabu and Kiara Advani in the lead. The film is expected to make its way to theatres in March.

Mohit Suri's 2014 romantic thriller 'Ek Villain' starred Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in pivotal roles. The remake of the thriller stars Disha Patani, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria and Arjun Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film is expected to hit theaters in July.

Tara Singh, Sakeena and Jeete, the on-screen family in 'Gadar 2' is etched in the memories of their fans forever. Gadar remake was in talks for many years. In 2021, the makers finally began script reading. The film will see Sunny Deol reprise his role of Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakeena and Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete. The film went on floors and is slated to release later this year.
