Here's why Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan were to be sent back home from the sets of Shah Rukh Khan's 'My Name Is Khan'

Not many know that before they made their debut with 'Student Of The Year', Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan were assistant directors on 'My Name Is Khan'. Karan Johar also had 'Agneepath' director Karan Malhotra being the chief assistant to him on this one and he would often keep an eye on Varun and Sidharth. Recently, when Varun and Sidharth were on 'Koffee With Karan 8', Karan Johar revealed that Karan Malhotra felt that these two boys should just be sent home from the set, here's why!
The film was being shot in a foreign location and Karan revealed that both Varun and Sidharth were engaged in steamy affairs with the costume department."You (Varun) were engaged with an Indian girl and Sid was engaged with a foreign girl from the department. Engaged, I’m using a very polite word to say what you were doing."
Hence, the next morning Karan Malhotra comes to KJo and says, ‘Can we send two people home? Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra because they’re distracting the costume department'.
Karan also revealed that huge crowds used to gather to see Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of 'My Name Is Khan' and he would see that Varun is clicking pictures with them instead in one corner. The director also revealed that Sidharth was supposed to be acting in a film earlier, but that somehow didn't work out, so he decided to assist.
Post that, both the actors were launched by Karan himself, with 'Student Of The Year'. On this episode, KJo also revealed that both Varun and Sidharth weren't sure of Alia's casting in the movie but eventually, she proved her worth!
