Here’s why Anil Kapoor decided to work with daughter Sonam K Ahuja in ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’

For years, there were reports about Anil Kapoor and Sonam K Ahuja doing a film together. However, it was only when they got the script for ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ that they decided to work together. The film, which released last week to positive reviews, continues to rake in the moolah at the box office. However, it wasn’t just the script that tempted the veteran actor to sign on the dotted line.In a recent interview, the senior Kapoor revealed that apart from an engaging script, Sonam was the primary reason why he decided to take up the film. He added that they wanted to choose the right film to work in together instead of simply signing anything. Kapoor said he was also impressed by the hard work that Sonam put in her role and hoped to direct her on the big screen one day. He said that in his directorial venture, if it ever happens, he would only cast Sonam as the protagonist.
Kapoor said he was also happy that Sonam was making courageous choices while picking roles, which helped showcase her talent as an actor. He added that ‘Neerja’ allowed Sonam to prove herself as an actor and ‘Ek Ladki...’ will give her another chance to prove her worth. He said Sonam’s performance in the latter film is just right without being over the top thanks to the fact that she connects with real people and situations so well.
