Hema Malini takes a promise from Shah Rukh Khan to visit Mathura

Hema Malini the OG dream girl of Bollywood and the King of the industry Shah Rukh Khan share a special bond. When Shah Rukh Khan was new in the industry, struggling to find his place, Hema Malini gave him a break with ‘Dil Ashna Hai.’ From there Shah Rukh Khan never looked back.

Owing to the same, a lot of people give Hema Malini credit for SRK’s success, but the actress has time and again set the record straight that only Shah Rukh is responsible for the stature that he enjoys today. Narrating one such incident at a recent award function Hema Malini shared, “The youth of my constituency keeps telling me that you have made Shah Rukh Khan such a big star you can also make us a star. I told them it’s not possible. Shah Rukh is very talented, we only gave him a chance but he has worked hard with full determination and has come up to this level, so you can’t say that ‘Hemaji aapke haath mein jaadu hain and hume bhi shah rukh khan banna hain. (Hema ji you are a magician, make us like Shah Rukh Khan as well).”

She then asked Shah Rukh to promise her that he would come to Mathura and talk to the people himself to motivate them. “You have to promise me and come to Mathura and tell all the boys whatever you want to say to them.''

Replying to her request, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Hemaji they will get your blessing and become a superstar. I have no contribution to it.''

This sweet exchange of words between SRK and Hema Malini melted hearts in no time. Their love and respect for each other is perhaps the most charming feature of these Bollywood icons.
