What prompted this multi-faceted musician to start a musical academy? Reflects the man, who started the trend of remixes in India with Asha Bhosle, India has a huge talent pool of musicians. The aim of my academy is to help serious musicians to spend time and invest in their career. One significant reason why he started the academy is his dissatisfaction with the quality of music in the industry. The quality of content has gone down. Nowadays, it is easy for any musician to sound good. You can retune an artistes voice, giving a better pitch by using the latest software.
Also, not many original compositions are being made. Lesle is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that his pupils develop into fine musicians. The academy is giving them the opportunity to work with the crme de la crme of the industry. It is a win-win situation for me as well. As a producer, I can select the best musicians and, as a composer, I get to interact with rising stars of tomorrow, he says matter-of factly.
It is hardly surprising when he discusses how his life revolves around music. Music has a power to move you in so many ways. I love listening to any kind of music that can move me and give me a lot of joy. The bottomline is that I love music period, says he.
Lesle is in love with Pune, too, which he visits whenever he can. Music has a strong place in Pune. You have a lot of live performances, and that is most important for any musician. The musical scenario in Pune is very cultured. You learn so much in Pune as far as music is concerned, he says. Not many would disagree with that observation.
