Has Tiger Shroff’s Hero No.1 been shelved ?- Exclusive

Tiger Shroff's film "Hero No. 1," a standalone project unrelated ... Read More

In October last year it was reported that Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani will be coming together after Baaghi 2 for Vashi Bhagnani’s film Hero No. 1. The film is a stand alone project however, and has no connection to Govinda and Karisma Kapoor’s film of the same name which was released in 1997. The Bhagnanis are attempting to revamp their 90s film, in a new way for the current generation, like they did with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which originally had Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in the lead, but in its current version the film has Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, the film is an actioner while the original one was a comedy directed by David Dhawan.

Coming to Tiger’s Hero no.1, sources have exclusively revealed to ETimes, that the movie canned a small schedule in September last year, and was to begin full fledged shooting in January this year, but it has now been put on the backburner. Our sources also revealed that the director Jagan Shakti ( Director of Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal) has also moved on to other projects, and the technicians who were attached to the project have also been released. Our source also added that post the success of Bade Miyan which is releasing on Eid, there is a possibility of the makers regrouping once again for the film.

In fact, the film has had a bit of hiccups from the start, like Sara Ali Khan was roped in for the film, but was replaced because of date issues and Disha Patani stepped into her shoes. In an interview with ETimes, director Jagan Shakti had confirmed the story and said , “Disha is the fittest and apt to do action. Sara was definitely a part of it, but unfortunately, we couldn't match the date.” In fact Hrithik Roshan’s cousin and Rajesh Roshan’s daughter Pashmina Roshan was also supposed to be part of the film.
