Has Ranbir Kapoor quit alcohol and turned vegetarian for his role as Lord Ram in Ramayana? Here's what we know
Ranbir Kapoor is busy with his highly anticipated film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, where he will play Lord Ram. Reports now say he is making some lifestyle changes to prepare for the role.
On Friday, paparazzo Viral Bhayani shared that Ranbir has quit alcohol and turned vegetarian to play Lord Ram in Ramayana. He is reportedly following a strict sattvic diet, doing early workouts, and practicing meditation to reflect the character’s spiritual discipline.
A News18 report claimed that an insider revealed that Ranbir chose these lifestyle changes to reflect purity while portraying Lord Ram on screen.
Ranbir has also mentioned quitting smoking after the birth of his daughter, Raha. He said he’s focused on spending time with her, cleaning up his lifestyle, and staying healthy as he enters his 40s—for both himself and his child.
The Ramayana teaser begins with the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Using striking animation, it then introduces key characters: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
“Ten years of Aspiration. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning. Let’s Celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama v/s Ravana. Our Truth. Our History," wrote the makers while sharing the first look.
Ramayana will be released worldwide: Part 1 on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
