It appears that Metro… In Dino, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan along with Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkana Sensharma, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh has been delayed yet again. Initially set for a 2024 release, the film was postponed, and now, with director Anurag Basu getting busy with his next project starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, speculation is rife that the film might not arrive before 2026.


Basu’s untitled love story with Kartik and Sreeleela has been making steady progress, with the teaser already out and the film locked for a Diwali 2025 release. It is set to clash with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thama, further cementing its priority in the director’s schedule.

The anthology-style film, produced by Bhushan Kumar, was announced with much anticipation, outed as a spiritual successor to Life in a… Metro, the film was expected to delve into contemporary relationships in urban India. However, multiple delays have left fans wondering about its fate.

Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar continues to oversee an expansive slate for 2025 and 2026, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhavan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty’s BORDER 2, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and R Madhavan’s De De Pyaar De 2, Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4, Spirit with Prabhas, and Tere Ishq Mein with Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.

While no official confirmation has been made about its new release date, industry buzz suggests that audiences might have to wait until 2026 to finally witness Anurag Basu’s much-awaited urban drama on the big screen.
