On July 28, three years, three months, six days and two post ponements later, Vikramaditya Motwane's long-delayed Bhavesh Joshi finally went on the floors in Mumbai with Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan playing the vigilante hero. The film's script had changed from 2013 when the Congress ruled. "I'm not politically inclined and it's fiction, but having lived in Mumbai for 25 years, I can say some of the stuff is relevant to the city," he had asserted, adding that there's a lot of action in the film which they had been working on and which would look cool on screen.
Three months down the line, Mirror has learnt that while the action will continue to be "cool", Vikramaditya has been told to cut down on the budget.

"It was set at Rs 25 crore but now the film's makers are having second thoughts and believe that the high cost could make the film economically non viable. It's understandable that in the aftermath of the commercial failure of 'Mirzya' the production houses would want to play safe," a source informed Mirror.

Madhu Mantena, one of the film's producers, denied the news saying, "This is untrue. Bhavesh Joshi is being made on a budget that was pre-decided before we started shooting months ago."

The official spokesperson of co-producer Eros added, "We resume shooting from November 9 and the gap in the shoot was for the actor to bulk up as the role demanded another look for the action sequences. Good content at the right budget works and Bhavesh Joshi is already reasonably budgeted and will go as planned."
